Delayed Thriller 'Pooja Meri Jaan' Finds Streaming Home

Pooja Meri Jaan, a thriller featuring Mrunal Thakur and Huma Qureshi, is set to release on ZEE5 after being delayed for nearly four years. The film's release was uncertain due to various factors, including a merger of platforms that initially acquired it.

Director Navjot Gulati shared the significant personal and professional impact of the delay. He mentioned his father's repeated inquiries about the film's release before his passing in 2024, and his own feelings of helplessness as a co-producer allegedly became unresponsive.

Gulati attributed the main obstacle to a pricing dispute, with the production house unwilling to sell unless their desired amount was met. He also questioned the lack of a theatrical release, citing other OTT-commissioned projects that successfully found cinema distribution.

The extended delay has reportedly hindered Gulati's career, making producers hesitant to collaborate. He expressed willingness to buy back the film himself to ensure its release. The thriller, which explores stalking and cybercrime, finished filming and post-production by late 2022.
