Pooja Bhatt Recalls Parveen Babi's Tragic Unraveling

Pooja Bhatt recently shared poignant reflections on the late actress Parveen Babi's life and struggles. Bhatt described Babi's later years as a profound tragedy, noting her significant emotional distress and public scrutiny.

Recounting a specific incident, Bhatt recalled Babi sitting in an office, giving an interview about her belief that Amitabh Bachchan intended to harm her and that the industry had poisoned her food. Bhatt observed this paranoia, noting Babi was "not well" and her mind was "unravelling."

Despite the painful circumstances surrounding Babi's declining health and mental state, Bhatt also holds a warm childhood memory. She recalled visiting Babi's home with her father and being gifted a perfume bottle by the actress, remembering her as a "beautiful movie star whose impulse was to give something."

Babi passed away in January 2005. Mahesh Bhatt famously claimed her body from a Mumbai hospital morgue, ensuring she received a proper burial despite their complicated past.

Pooja Bhatt also touched upon Babi's significant legacy, highlighting her status as the first Indian actor to appear on the cover of Time magazine, a testament to her immense popularity and influence.
