A striking mural of a large pomegranate now graces a sunlit wall at Aksharnandan School, brought to life by French artist Olivier Poizat, known as Kesadi. This artwork is a feature of Wall Art India, a public art initiative co-organized by Alliance Française, the Embassy of France in India, and Institut Français.
The artist was inspired by the pomegranate's unfamiliarity in France, choosing it to represent themes of exchange and local culture. Poizat observed the fruit's journey from tree to sale, constructing the image from research into local produce.
During the painting process, students from the school showed great interest, gathering around Kesadi during their breaks. The artist found them to be creative and engaging, viewing their curiosity as a positive aspect of the project. The school integrated the artist's visit into its educational activities, fostering a connection between art and learning.
