As of February 5th, 2026, Japan has launched PokéPark Kanto, the brand's inaugural theme park. This expansive 26,000 sq metre attraction is nestled in the Tokyo suburb of Inagi, offering visitors an immersive experience with over 600 lifelike Pokémon statues. The park, creatively directed by original Pokémon creator Junichi Masuda, is divided into Pokémon Forest and Sedge Town.
Larger-than-life recreations, from rhino-sized Rhyhorns to lorry-sized Onix, populate explorable habitats. Visitors can also enjoy a Pokémon parade, themed fairground games, and a live Pokémon battle show blending performers with animatronics. Tickets are currently sold out for three months, with prices ranging from ¥7,900 for standard entry to ¥14,000 for priority passes.
This venture by The Pokémon Company, a global media brand with an estimated $150bn revenue, capitalizes on the franchise's enduring popularity. The park's opening coincides with a surge in tourism to Japan, though this has also brought societal challenges. PokéPark Kanto is poised to further boost visitor numbers to the country.
