In the latest episode of the reality TV show Special Forces, which aired on October 9, 2025, podcaster Bryce LaPaglia, 26, opened up about her motivations for joining the show. LaPaglia, who hosts the popular podcast "BFFs" with Josh Richards, revealed that she had a "really tough year" following a highly publicized breakup from country singer Zach Bryan, 29.
LaPaglia claimed that she was "emotionally abused" by Bryan during their relationship, which ended in October 2024. She said that she "wasn't allowed to be me" and had lost sight of herself, falling into a "dark hole" that she was determined to climb out of by participating in the Special Forces challenge.
Despite her reservations about violence, LaPaglia was determined to push through the grueling training and prove her strength. She shared that the experience would help her "learn more about myself" and regain the confidence she had lost.
Elsewhere in the episode, another recruit, athlete Nick Young, 40, also opened up about his personal motivations. Young discussed how the death of his older brother when he was a child had deeply affected his family.
