- An IPS officer alleged 'Dridam's' story resembles her published short story.
- She also claimed the film's plot was based on her YouTube audio narration.
- The officer also cited plagiarism concerns for 'Bhoothakaalam'.

Investigative thriller 'Dridam,' starring Shane Nigam, is facing plagiarism allegations from IPS officer and writer Sreelekha R. Sreelekha claims the film's narrative bears a strong resemblance to her short story, 'Karinkudi Police Station,' which was published approximately 15 years ago in Mathrubhumi Weekly.
She further stated that she had adapted her story into an audio narration and uploaded it to her YouTube channel five years ago. Sreelekha alleges that 'Dridam,' directed by Martin Joseph, is based on this narrated work. The film, written by Jomon John and Linto Devasia, follows a young police officer's investigation into murders at his first posting.
Additionally, Sreelekha raised plagiarism concerns about director Rahul Sadasivan's horror film 'Bhoothakaalam,' suggesting it was inspired by her real-life story 'Bhootha Bhavanam.' Notably, both 'Dridam' and 'Bhoothakaalam' feature Shane Nigam in lead roles. Despite her allegations, she praised Nigam's performance in 'Dridam.'
