Another Star Departs 'The Pitt' Ahead of Season 3

The medical drama 'The Pitt' is facing a significant cast change as Supriya Ganesh, who portrayed Dr. Samira Mohan, will not return for the upcoming third season. Ganesh has been a part of the series since its premiere in January 2025. Her exit is characterized as a "story-driven" decision by the show's creative team.

Adding to the cast dynamics, Ayesha Harris is confirmed to reprise her role as Dr. Parker Ellis as a series regular. The show's premise, set in a fictional teaching hospital in Pittsburgh, allows for a natural rotation of residents.

This is not the first time 'The Pitt' has seen a notable cast departure. In July 2025, Tracy Ifeachor, who played Dr. Heather Collins, also exited the series prior to its second season. Sources indicated that Ifeachor's departure was also part of the writers' narrative plans for her character's career progression.

Ganesh herself had previously expressed curiosity about her character's future, stating in February that she was eager to see where the writers would take Dr. Mohan. The series premiered on HBO Max in January 2025 and follows the intense shifts of hospital ER staff.
