Pitbull, the renowned Latin hip hop artist, has achieved a new Guinness World Record for the largest gathering of people wearing bald caps. The record was set with an impressive 22,141 fans donning the caps before his British Summer Time (BST) headline set in London's Hyde Park.
This notable feat was initiated by BBC Radio 1 presenter Greg James, who proposed the idea and collaborated with the artist. Pitbull became the first person to attempt this specific record under official adjudication, meaning there was no prior record to surpass.
Fans, affectionately known as 'Bald-es,' enthusiastically participated, many mimicking Pitbull's iconic style with black aviator glasses and stick-on goatees. This trend has gained significant traction, with videos of mass fan participation going viral in recent years.
The event saw supermarket chain Aldi supporting the initiative by supplying 300 bald caps and even temporarily rebranding as 'Baldi.' Pitbull's performance was part of a lineup of all-male headliners at the festival.
