Rock Band's Christmas Wish: Unloved Instruments for Families

Newcastle-based heavy metal band Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs, known as Pigsx7, has initiated a heartwarming appeal for unused musical instruments. Their goal is to provide these instruments to families in need in the north-east of England, ensuring they arrive in time for Christmas. The band emphasizes that financial constraints, including the cost of instruments and studio time, significantly hinder aspiring musicians from low-income backgrounds.

Guitarist Adam Sykes and vocalist Matt Baty have spoken out about how economic hardship forces many to abandon creative pursuits like music. They believe this situation marginalizes diverse voices and experiences within the arts. Pigsx7 hopes their appeal will offer opportunities to others that they themselves benefited from, powered by luck and perseverance over their 14-year career.

The band has already received initial donations like guitars and pedals and is seeking a wider range of instruments. Interested individuals can contact Pigsx7 via email or drop off items at The Cluny, provided prior arrangements are made. All donated equipment will undergo PAT testing to ensure safety before being given to a local charity, aiming to spark musical inspiration for many.
