The Dryden Theatre at the George Eastman Museum is presenting a film series titled "Paul and Phil." This series honors the late, Oscar-winning actor Philip Seymour Hoffman, who would have celebrated his 59th birthday on July 23. The collection features five films that Hoffman made in collaboration with writer and director Paul Thomas Anderson.
Each of the five selected films will be shown in their original 35mm format. The series includes early works such as "Hard Eight" and "Boogie Nights," which is widely considered Hoffman's breakthrough role. "Magnolia" and "Punch-Drunk Love" are also part of the lineup.
"The Master," for which Hoffman received an Oscar nomination for his portrayal of Lancaster Dodd, is also featured. The film series is scheduled to take place in early August. Tickets for the screenings are priced between $5 and $13.
