Phil Dunster, recognized for his performance in Ted Lasso, is set to join the live-action adaptation of How to Train Your Dragon as Eret, son of Eret. This upcoming Universal Pictures film is slated for a June 11, 2027 release.
Dean DeBlois will return to write and direct the sequel. The cast includes Mason Thames, Nico Parker, Gerard Butler reprising his role as Stoic, and Cate Blanchett as Valka, Hiccup's mother. Ólafur Darri Ólafsson will portray Drago.
The franchise, based on Cressida Cowell's book series, has achieved significant commercial success, with its four animated films grossing over $2.2 billion worldwide. The previous live-action adaptation also performed strongly at the box office, earning $636.4 million globally.
