Peter Rabbit sculptures hop to auction for charity
26 Sep
Summary
- 96 hand-painted Peter Rabbit sculptures graced Newcastle and North Tyneside.
- The trail supported St Oswald's Hospice charity through paid activities.
- Sculptures will be auctioned on October 10-11 at Newcastle Civic Centre.
Dozens of hand-painted Peter Rabbit sculptures, previously featured on a popular city trail, are heading to auction. The trail, which spanned nine weeks across Newcastle and North Tyneside, showcased 96 unique sculptures of the beloved Beatrix Potter character. Visitors were encouraged to explore and photograph each sculpture, with paid elements like a sticker book and app contributing to St Oswald's Hospice.
The trail concluded earlier this month, and the sculptures are now being prepared for a charity auction. This event will provide a final opportunity for the public to see all 96 artworks together before they are sold. The auction event is scheduled to take place at the Newcastle Civic Centre on October 10 and 11. Artists who contributed to painting the sculptures are expected to be present to engage with attendees.
