Hilton is currently in residential mental health treatment following a hospitalization in August for self-harm. His mother, Teresita Lavandeira, has stepped in to provide full-time care for Mario, Mia, and Mayte, aged 13, 11, and 8 respectively, aiming to maintain normalcy in their lives.

D'Angora organized the GoFundMe with support from Hilton's friends, setting a $25,000 goal. The funds will cover the unexpected expenses associated with caring for the children while Hilton focuses on his recovery. Hilton's family confirmed he is expected to remain in treatment for several more weeks and does not have access to his phone or computer. His mother was granted temporary custody to ensure the children's safety and well-being. Hilton, whose legal name is Mario Armando Lavandeira Jr., experienced a mental health crisis that led to his hospitalization on August 4th after an alarming TikTok livestream.
