Peeves Returns: HBO's Harry Potter Series Revives Beloved Ghost

The highly anticipated HBO Harry Potter series will rectify a long-standing omission from the film adaptations by including Peeves the Poltergeist. Comedian Peter Serafinowicz has been tapped to voice the notorious troublemaker, who is known for his chaotic antics and general mischief within Hogwarts. This move directly addresses director Chris Columbus's expressed regret over cutting the character from "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone."

Peeves, while absent from the initial films, has been a presence in video game adaptations and the recent "Hogwarts Legacy" game. British actor Rik Mayall had previously filmed scenes as Peeves for the first movie, only for the character to be removed in post-production. The new HBO series aims to delve deeper into the wizarding world, with each of its planned seven seasons adapting one of J.K. Rowling's novels.
