Summary
- Bradley Banton's self-funded debut feature 'More Life' premieres at 2025 LFF
- Film follows old friends reuniting, told through an Instagram Live broadcast
- Banton and lead actor Tuwaine Barrett discuss their creative process

In October 2025, the London Film Festival (LFF) featured a standout debut from Peckham-born filmmaker Bradley Banton. His self-funded feature 'More Life' presented a unique take on contemporary Black British life, telling the story entirely through an Instagram Live broadcast.
The film follows a group of old friends who reunite in Copenhagen to celebrate one of their own opening a gallery show. As the narrative unfolds in real-time on social media, the history and dynamics between the characters are delicately revealed. Starring Tuwaine Barrett, who recently broke out in 'Hard Truths', the film offers a thoroughly modern portrait of Black British life.
Banton and Barrett spoke about their creative process, explaining how they shot the entire film on Banton's phone in just 48 hours due to budget constraints. Despite the tight timeline, the natural performances and improvised dialogue lend an authentic feel to the project. After initially self-funding the film, Banton connected with producer Daniel Emmerson of DMC Film, who helped secure the LFF premiere.
With its innovative format and compelling storytelling, 'More Life' has generated significant buzz at the festival. Banton and Barrett hope to find the right distribution platform that can capture the energy of the live screening experience for audiences at home.
