Charlie Heaton is set to star as Charles Shelby in the upcoming "Peaky Blinders" sequel series. Heaton, known for "Stranger Things," will portray the son of the infamous Shelby family, taking on the mantle after Cillian Murphy's patriarch Tommy bowed out. This new six-episode chapter shifts to the 1950s, a decade after World War II, focusing on the next generation of Shelbys.
The series finds Charles Shelby attempting to embrace a normal life, distancing himself from the hedonistic Shelby lifestyle and his gang ties. However, his past continues to call, particularly through his half-brother Duke, who was played by Barry Keoghan in the film spin-off. The narrative is set against the backdrop of Birmingham's post-war rebuilding efforts.
Joining Heaton and Jamie Bell, who plays Duke Shelby, are Jessica Brown Findlay, Lashana Lynch, and Lucy Karczewski. The series is currently in production in Birmingham. While a release date is pending, it will be available on BBC iPlayer and BBC One in the U.K., with a global release on Netflix.
