Paul Bettany's Fairytale Love: From Crush to Wife

Paul Bettany, currently promoting his new Disney+ Marvel series VisionQuest, has opened up about his deeply personal life, including his enduring love story with actress Jennifer Connelly.

Bettany first developed a crush on Connelly when he was 15, after seeing her in Labyrinth. He later met her face-to-face on the set of A Beautiful Mind, recalling an "instant" attraction.

Despite initial mutual interest, they were both in other relationships. However, during the events of September 11, 2001, Bettany realized his feelings and impulsively proposed marriage to Connelly, whom he had never formally dated.

They were married on New Year's Day 2003, in a ceremony described as 'Victorian.' Bettany humorously noted their swift marriage, joking he was like a "stalker" fearing Connelly would discover his lack of formal education compared to her Yale background.

The couple has since resided in Brooklyn and are parents to two children, Stellan and Agnes. They also share their home with Connelly's son from a previous relationship, Kai.
