Paul Bettany will embody Peter Sayer, an aging pop star on the brink of financial ruin, in the new feel-good comedy "It's Alright." The film, which Bettany co-wrote, sees him unexpectedly connect with his 19-year-old daughter, Georgie, portrayed by rising star Asha Banks.
Georgie, an aspiring singer-songwriter, possesses a raw talent that impresses Peter. Posing as a music producer, he brings her to London, promising collaboration. This creative partnership becomes the unlikely catalyst for Peter's comeback, as Georgie's influence helps revitalize his career.
Directed by Scott Stewart, "It's Alright" also features Colin Firth and Gugu Mbatha-Raw. The project's original soundtrack will be produced by Marius de Vries, known for his work on "La La Land" and "Moulin Rouge!" Production is slated to commence in early 2027.
The narrative centers on Peter's dilemma: should he prioritize commercial success dictated by an industry mogul, or protect the unique musical magic he's created with his daughter? The film explores second chances and the unifying power of music.
