Robert Pattinson is drawing parallels between his role as Antinous in an upcoming adaptation of Homer's The Odyssey and the character of Jacob Black from the Twilight Saga. Pattinson, who previously starred as Edward Cullen in Twilight, sees his new character as one who is "trying to like help her make a decision" regarding Penelope's suitors.
The Odyssey tells the story of Odysseus's arduous ten-year journey home after the Trojan War. In the new film, Pattinson's Antinous is a suitor vying for Penelope's hand and Odysseus's throne.
The ensemble cast for this ambitious project also includes Zendaya, Lupita Nyong'o, Charlize Theron, and Matt Damon, who is reportedly playing Odysseus. The film is directed by Christopher Nolan, reuniting him with Pattinson after their collaboration on Tenet.
