Rich Campbell, president and CEO of Atlantis Events, expressed his astonishment, noting this is the first time in 36 years the company has been explicitly barred from docking due to the nature of their clientele. The cruise was advertised as an "epic all-gay voyage" through the Mediterranean, with stops planned in iconic destinations including Istanbul.
Despite the reported ban from Turkey, LuPone affirmed her commitment to perform for the passengers. The ship will proceed with its itinerary, making alternative ports of call.
