Patti LaBelle Honored With Inaugural Legacy Award

Hollywood Unlocked will present its sixth annual Impact Awards on June 5, introducing the inaugural Patti LaBelle Legacy Award. The "Godmother of Soul," Patti LaBelle, will be the first recipient of this new honor. The ceremony, hosted by Tiffany Haddish, will take place at The Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles and stream live on the Zeus Network.
Proceeds from the event will support the Hollywood Cares Foundation, established by Hollywood Unlocked CEO Jason Lee to aid underserved youth in Black and Brown communities. The foundation recently received a $13 million grant from Governor Gavin Newsom to establish a youth center. The Impact Awards will also recognize other influential figures such as Tyler Perry, Kehlani, Kirk Franklin, RZA, and Bozoma Saint John.
Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds will serve as musical director for performances by artists including Chlöe and Jekalyn Carr. Additionally, Jason Lee's show, "The Jason Lee Show," has moved to BET Creator Studio as its flagship series. Lee, who is also the vice mayor of Stockton, California, aims to amplify diverse voices and content.
