Paris Jackson Marks 5 Years of Sobriety, Reflects on "Better Life"

In October 2025, Paris Jackson, the 27-year-old singer-songwriter and daughter of the late Michael Jackson, marked a significant milestone in her life – 5 years of sobriety. During a speech at the 35th annual Friendly House Awards Luncheon in Los Angeles, Jackson reflected on her journey and how it feels to have "got[ten] my life back."

Jackson, who has been open about her struggles with addiction, likened her sobriety journey to "getting into a car accident." She explained that the things she had "shoved in the back seat" of her life came "forward on impact," and now she's learning to "navigate life on life's terms." Jackson expressed gratitude for the support she's received, saying, "I didn't just get my life back. I got a better one."

The young artist also praised organizations like Friendly House, a rehabilitation program for women healing from trauma, for their work in helping others achieve sobriety. Jackson shared that much of her "service work" is done one-on-one, as she believes it's essential to her "spiritual foundation" and "higher purpose." She hopes to continue supporting programs that empower women in their recovery journeys.
