Parineeti Chopra has vocally condemned the online scrutiny and judgment directed at women regarding their postpartum weight.
During promotions for her series 'Shaque,' Chopra described the commentary as "uneducated and bizarre," questioning why a woman's body changes after pregnancy should be viewed negatively. She emphasized that these alterations are evidence of the strength required to carry and birth a child.
Chopra also shared her personal approach to such negativity, stating she actively avoids social media and does not let the opinions of strangers impact her. She prioritizes her time with family and friends over engaging with what she calls "nonsense."
Her comments come in the wake of actress Katrina Kaif facing similar postpartum body shaming online. Kaif welcomed her son, Vihaan, in November 2025 and has since been subjected to criticism about her appearance, despite support from some sections of the public.
