Summary
- Paramount TV Studios signs first-look deal with Jessica Biel and Michelle Purple's production company Iron Ocean
- First project under the deal is spy thriller 'The Ambler Warning' based on Robert Ludlum's novel
- Biel set to star and executive produce the adaptation, which reimagines the male protagonist as a female CIA agent

In a significant move, Paramount TV Studios has announced a first-look deal with Jessica Biel and Michelle Purple's production company, Iron Ocean. This marks the first such pact for Paramount's recently revived television studio.
The inaugural project under this agreement is a spy thriller adaptation of Robert Ludlum's bestselling novel, 'The Ambler Warning'. Biel is set to star in and executive produce the series, which will reimagine the book's male protagonist, Hal Ambler, as a female character named Erica Ambler.
The series will follow CIA Case Officer Erica Ambler, who suffers a devastating injury while on assignment, waking up without her memories in custody at a supermax prison for the world's deadliest spies. Erica must now piece together the clues to uncover her own identity and prevent a lethal attack on American soil.

Jason Horwitch, known for his work on 'Echo 3' and 'Fight Night', will write the adaptation and serve as showrunner. Biel and Purple will executive produce alongside Ben Smith and Jeffrey Weiner of Captivate Entertainment, the production company behind the Jason Bourne series.
This deal marks a homecoming of sorts for Biel and Purple, as their Iron Ocean production company had previously held two back-to-back first-look deals with the previous incarnation of Paramount TV Studios, which was later shut down. The duo is now thrilled to be partnering with the newly revived Paramount TV Studios, led by former Skydance TV President Nick Thunell.
