Paramount Television Studios is developing a television adaptation of Keith Rosson's acclaimed horror novel, 'Coffin Moon.' The project is a collaboration with Jessica Biel and Michelle Purple's production company, Iron Ocean, operating under their first-look deal with the studio.
Noah Harpster and Micah Fitzerman-Blue, known for their work on 'A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood' and 'Painkiller,' are attached to write, adapt, and serve as showrunners for the series. Keith Rosson, the author of 'Coffin Moon,' will contribute as a consulting producer.
The novel, 'Coffin Moon,' is set in 1975 Oregon during a harsh winter. It centers on a veteran and his adopted niece who embark on a dangerous quest to hunt a vampire responsible for their family's demise, only to find themselves hunted in return.
This announcement aligns with the paperback release of 'Coffin Moon,' which originally debuted last September. The novel itself draws inspiration from Charles Portis's classic 'True Grit.' This marks another collaboration between Paramount Television Studios and Iron Ocean, following their joint development of 'The Ambler Warning,' based on a Robert Ludlum novel, where Biel is also slated to star.
