Paramount Pictures and Walter Hamada's 18hz have secured the rights to develop Andrew Duplessie's horror short, 'The Littles,' into a feature film. Duplessie, who previously produced for American Horror Stories and authored a bestseller, is slated to write and direct the adaptation, expanding his original vision.
The recently premiered short film, praised for its innovative blend of live-action and stop-motion animation by The Nightmare Before Christmas alum Anthony Scott, follows an 11-year-old girl whose discovery of a loose floorboard unleashes otherworldly events. The film stars Violet McGraw, Janel Parrish, and Dominic Sherwood.
Duplessie expressed his excitement about partnering with 18hz, highlighting their shared passion for horror and stop-motion. This acquisition marks another significant step for Duplessie, whose career includes bestselling novels and viral digital storytelling, further solidifying his presence in the horror genre.
