The play, written and directed by Faiz Mohammed Khan, will be staged at the Rangshila Theatre in Mumbai on November 21, 22, and 23. 'Lailaaj' features original writing, music, and lyrics by Khan. For Pankaj Tripathi, this production represents a return to the art form that shaped his early career as an actor, before he found success in films.
"Roopkatha Rangmanch is not just a production house for us, it is an emotional extension of our roots," said Tripathi. "When Mridula and I decided to start our own banner, I felt a strong desire that our first production must honor the medium that shaped me." Mridula Tripathi, who is co-producing the play, expressed her excitement about Aashi's debut and the team's commitment to bringing stories that "touch the heart" to the stage.
