One India Stories, the production house co-founded by Dia Mirza and Ananya Rane, has achieved a significant milestone with its debut short film, Panha. The film garnered the Best Indian Short Film award at the All Living Things Environmental Film Festival (ALT EFF), marking a strong start for the banner.
Directed by Sakshi Mishra, Panha offers a sensitive look at a farming family in Maharashtra dealing with displacement caused by a bullet train project. Narrated through the eyes of a child, the film explores themes of loss and resilience amidst forced development.
This award at ALT EFF is the latest in a series of recognitions for Panha, which has also won Best Film at the 9th World Indian Film Festival Hyderabad and received an Honourable Jury Mention at the 13th Mumbai Shorts International Film Festival.
