Palworld Dev Warns Against Massive Update Expectations

Following its full release in July after over two years of early access, Palworld continues to see strong player numbers on Steam. Development is ongoing, but Pocketpair's publishing and communications head, John "Bucky" Buckley, recently advised players to manage their expectations for future updates.

Buckley initially encouraged suggestions for the "Palworld v1.1 brainstorming session," receiving over 2,000 responses. However, he later clarified that massive undertakings such as adding new continents or levels are not planned for version 1.1, stating that such significant updates would require about a year or more to develop and are not the focus.

He further explained that the team intends to develop updates manually, expressing opposition to the use of generative AI in game development. While the exact release date and content for Palworld 1.1 are unconfirmed, Buckley hinted at upcoming collaborations.
