Pakistani Film Flops, Sells Only 22 Tickets
14 May
Summary
- Pakistani film Mera Lyari reportedly sold just 22 tickets in some locations.
- Screenings of Mera Lyari were stopped within a day due to poor sales.
- The Indian film Dhurandhar collected over ₹1350 crore worldwide.

Pakistani film Mera Lyari, intended to present a positive narrative of Lyari town through a women's football story, has reportedly failed commercially, selling as few as 22 tickets in some locations. Screenings were quickly discontinued within a day due to extremely low audience turnout.
This stark box office performance contrasts sharply with the success of the Indian film Dhurandhar, which reportedly garnered over ₹1350 crore worldwide. Dhurandhar, a spy thriller set in Lyari, depicted a gritty portrayal of the area, unlike Mera Lyari's focus on local youth dreams and community life.
Mera Lyari, released on May 8, featured actors Ayesha Omar and Dananeer Mobeen. Despite support from Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, who framed it as a counter-narrative to Indian portrayals, the film struggled to attract audiences.
