A planned "Outlander" spin-off series focusing on the character of Lord John Grey has received official confirmation from executive producers Matthew B. Roberts and Maril Davis. This development follows years of consideration for a show centered on the popular character.
Previously, David Berry, the actor behind Lord John, had revealed in 2024 that a series about his character had been close to fruition. He noted that a writer was attached and he had signed a contract, but the network ultimately decided against it.
Berry expressed his continued willingness to participate in such a project. When asked recently at the "Outlander" Season 8 premiere in New York City, he indicated that a spin-off was still a possibility. The executive producers have now publicly affirmed their commitment to making the Lord John series a reality.
