In an upcoming sci-fi thriller, a young Predator named Dek, who has been outcast from his clan, finds an unlikely ally in a robot character named Thia. The two embark on a perilous mission set in the future on a remote planet, as revealed in a recent interview.
The film, titled "Predator: Badlands," is set to debut in November 2024 and promises an emotional yet action-packed story. According to the synopsis, Dek and Thia set out on a "treacherous journey in search of the ultimate adversary." The Duffer Brothers, known for their work on the hit series "Stranger Things," have lent their voices to the Yautja computer and Kwei's ship in the film.
Additionally, actress Elle Fanning has been cast in the role of Thia, the robot character who teams up with the young Predator. The film's director, Dan Trachtenberg, has described the protagonist as someone who is "still badass, but there's something there that touches you emotionally too." He has also noted the challenge of creating a character that is both intimidating and relatable.
