Summary
- CNN and Variety are co-hosting a live Oscars red carpet pre-show.
- The event will feature interviews with nominees and stars.
- A new CNN Style Spin Room will discuss red carpet fashion.

Hollywood's biggest night is set for comprehensive coverage as CNN and Variety partner for a live Oscars red carpet pre-show on March 15. This marks CNN's return to Academy Awards red carpet broadcasts after nearly a decade. The broadcast will begin at 4 p.m. E.T. from Los Angeles, with CNN's Elizabeth Wagmeister and Variety's Ramin Setoodeh interviewing prominent nominees and stars.
A dedicated CNN Style Spin Room, based in New York, will offer insights into red carpet fashion. CNN contributor Cari Champion will host discussions with CNN Style's Rachel Tashjian and Women's Wear Daily style director Alex Badia, focusing on trends and notable looks. Following the ceremony, Wagmeister and Setoodeh, joined by Van Lathan, will host an after-show to dissect the evening's major moments, including snubs and surprises.
This collaboration builds on previous successful partnerships between CNN and Variety, including a town hall featuring Timothée Chalamet and Matthew McConaughey, and the "Actors on Actors" series. CNN will also air a related FlashDoc titled "Hollywood and the Oscars: Still Golden?" on March 14.
