Oscar-Nominated Actress June Squibb Joins Creator Joe Cappa's Animated Series 'Haha, You Clowns'

As of October 23rd, 2025, the new Adult Swim animated series 'Haha, You Clowns' has been delighting viewers with its unique brand of humor, and one of the biggest surprises has been the number of celebrity cameos that have popped up. Creator Joe Cappa, who voices most of the characters on the show, revealed that he was shocked by the level of talent that agreed to join the series, including an unexpected appearance by Oscar-nominated actress June Squibb.

In the episode titled "Movie Night," which is currently streaming for free on Cappa's YouTube page, Squibb shows up as one of the main character Preston's coworkers at Savers, as well as a customer named Ruth. The two elderly characters share a hilarious sequence where they try to give Preston some advice about keeping his dad awake for a movie, before one of them ends up giving a jalapeño popper to another customer.

Squibb's character Dory is set to play a larger role later in the season, though Cappa has been careful not to spoil exactly how she fits into the show's most absurd storylines. In addition to Squibb, the series has also featured cameos from other big names, including Saturday Night Live alums, pop culture icons, and even Justin Theroux, who reached out to Cappa directly on Instagram to be a part of the project.

As 'Haha, You Clowns' continues to air new episodes every Sunday night at 11:45 pm on Adult Swim, with next-day streaming on HBO Max, fans can look forward to more of these delightful and unexpected celebrity appearances that have become a hallmark of the show.
