The Niemeyer Sphere, the final design of acclaimed Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer, stands as a remarkable testament to his vision. Niemeyer conceived this 12-meter diameter white sphere at the age of 103, just before his passing in 2012.
The project, located in an industrial neighborhood of Leipzig, Germany, saw its inauguration in June 2020. The journey from its conception in 1994 to its opening took over two decades, involving entrepreneur Ludwig Koehne and executive architect Harald Kern.
