Seth MacFarlane has revealed that ten complete scripts for a potential fourth season of his sci-fi series, The Orville, are finished. This news comes as MacFarlane promotes the second season of his Peacock series, Ted. The Orville, which previously aired on Fox before moving to Hulu for its third season, has its scripts ready for production.

MacFarlane stated that the scripts are done, but his own demanding schedule is the primary reason for the delay in moving forward. He indicated that Hulu is prepared to greenlight the season, but finding the time to shoot it amidst his other projects is the challenge. The prolific producer expressed confidence that production could begin swiftly once his schedule allows.

The show, set in the 25th century, follows the crew of the USS Orville. While MacFarlane stars, the cast has faced challenges with long production breaks between seasons. One star, Adrianne Palicki, has suggested she may not return due to these scheduling difficulties, noting that Seth MacFarlane's desire to write everything himself contributed to the lengthy gaps.

Budgetary concerns have also been a significant factor in the show's future. MacFarlane previously acknowledged that The Orville is an ambitious and expensive production.
