A young trumpeter has found a new language and a profound sense of belonging through an accessible orchestra.
Cameron Jacobs, 20, who lives with autism, ADHD, and Tourette's, joined Orchestras for All seven years ago. He described the experience as finding a "wonderful community" after facing rejection elsewhere.
Jacobs, now a trustee for the orchestra, credits his involvement with significantly boosting his confidence. He views music as an additional language through which he can "speak to people in the audience."
The organization is dedicated to providing classical music education opportunities to children and teenagers from all walks of life.
