In a major development for fans of gritty crime dramas, Onyx Collective has ordered a pilot for a TV series adaptation of the acclaimed "Southern Bastards" graphic novels. The project is being executive produced by the original comics' creators, Jason Aaron and Jason Latour.
The series will follow a tenacious military veteran who travels to the small town of Craw County, Alabama, in search of her estranged father. What she discovers is a murderous criminal underworld run by the town's high school football coach, the "winningest" in the South. Bill Dubuque, known for his work on the hit Netflix series "Ozark," has written the teleplay and will also executive produce alongside Nia DaCosta.
