Onslaught: The Guest's Secret Sequel Revealed

Adam Wingard's upcoming film, Onslaught, slated for a September 4, 2026, release, is more than just a new action-horror venture; it's a significant expansion of his established cinematic mythology. The film is set to connect directly with Wingard's 2014 thriller, The Guest, revolving around another facet of the secret military program responsible for David Collins, the near-unstoppable soldier from the earlier movie.

This connection allows Wingard and writer Simon Barrett to revisit the world of advanced military experiments without directly continuing David's narrative. Onslaught follows an Army sniper, played by Adria Arjona, tasked with protecting her daughter from a squad of escaped, genetically engineered super soldiers. The narrative deepens as these attackers are revealed to be products of the same program that created David.

The film also ties into a recurring element from Wingard and Barrett's collaborations: the company KPG, previously seen in their work on You're Next and The Guest. This subtle connective tissue suggests a quietly built shared mythology. Adding to the intrigue, Dan Stevens, who starred in The Guest, reappears in Onslaught as a German scientist potentially involved in creating these new super soldiers.

Wingard has even described Onslaught as part of a loose trilogy alongside The Guest and You're Next, further cementing the interconnectedness of his filmography. This complex web of shared elements, including the military conspiracy and the KPG company, positions Onslaught as a deliberate, rewarding experience for fans familiar with Wingard's previous work, building a unique cinematic house for audiences to explore.
