Onimusha Moves Up: Avoids GTA 6's Shadow
2 Jul
Summary
- Onimusha: Way of the Sword now releases September 4.
- New release date avoids crowded September-October window.
- Demo available now, but progress does not transfer.
Capcom has advanced the release date for its upcoming title, Onimusha: Way of the Sword, to September 4. This revised launch will offer the game more space in a crowded fall release schedule. The new date applies to all platforms, including PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and the Switch 2.
The original September 25 release would have placed Onimusha: Way of the Sword in the same week as other anticipated games. By moving up the launch, the game now precedes major releases like Marvel's Wolverine, which is slated for September 15. This adjustment allows the historical fantasy action series to better navigate the competitive release landscape.
For players eager to experience the game sooner, a demo for Onimusha: Way of the Sword is available now. However, it is important to note that any progress made in the demo will not transfer to the full game upon its release.
