In an unprecedented move, creator Eiichiro Oda has physically hidden half of the treasure's secret at the bottom of the ocean.

On February 8, Oda meticulously wrote the answer on paper, tore it in two, and placed one fragment in a treasure chest. This chest was then sealed in a deep-sea pressure-resistant glass orb and dropped into the ocean, reaching the seabed at a depth of approximately 651 meters. A narrator confirmed, "The One Piece does exist," adding that the truth now rests "far beyond anyone's reach."

This dramatic reveal coincided with the manga surpassing 600 million copies in circulation worldwide, solidifying its status as the best-selling manga. The hidden fragment, along with its counterpart, offers only partial clues, with visible text fragments reading "As for the One Piece, it is..." and "And then, Monkey D. Luffy..."

Online communities, particularly on Reddit, are actively analyzing video footage of the drop. One detailed analysis suggests the capsule landed off the coast of Japan, possibly in Suruga Bay, by examining clues like the boat's appearance and the seabed's sediment. Meanwhile, the manga is reportedly entering its final saga, with Oda hinting that the mystery may finally be resolved within the next few years.
