Nineteen-year-old Phoenix musician Marcus Klepacki will perform with his new rock band, Third Man Factor, at Tempe's historic Yucca Tap Room. Klepacki, who was born without a right arm and a thumb on his left hand, plays a standard acoustic drum kit using only one arm, showcasing exceptional skill. His journey to this performance has been marked by significant health challenges, including scoliosis, for which he underwent spinal surgery in 2021, and a battle with leukemia during his childhood. He received music training from Alice Cooper's Solid Rock Teen Centers, where his instructor adapted teaching methods to his unique playing style. Third Man Factor, formed through Arizona State University's popular music program, is inspired by 90s alternative rock and grunge. The band features Fletcher Placko on vocals, Chris Sanchez and Ben Pakula on guitars, and Noah Paz on bass. The opportunity to play at Yucca Tap Room, a venue active since the 1960s, arose after Klepacki's performance at an open-mic event. Klepacki aims to build a lasting career in music, considering roles as a touring performer, session musician, or record producer.
