Olivia Yacé, who earned the title of Miss Universe Africa and Oceania and placed as fourth runner-up at the 74th Miss Universe pageant on November 21 in Thailand, has resigned from her continental crown. The philanthropist and advocate announced her decision on November 24, citing a need to stay true to her core values.
Yacé's resignation came just days after receiving the title. She expressed in a statement that her decision was driven by a desire to uphold her values of respect, dignity, excellence, and equal opportunity, aiming to be a role model for aspiring women. Despite stepping down from the Miss Universe Africa and Oceania role, she will retain her Miss Côte d'Ivoire title.
