At her inaugural Daisy Chain Fields festival on Saturday, August 29, 2026, Olivia Rodrigo navigated a last-minute change by inviting Alanis Morissette to the stage after Karen O withdrew. Rodrigo informed the crowd that Karen O had a personal matter requiring her absence.
Morissette then joined Rodrigo for a performance of "Ironic," a song from Morissette's 1995 album. They altered the lyrics to be more inclusive of the festival's queer-inclusive nature. This collaboration marked a full-circle moment for Rodrigo, who considers Morissette's work influential.
Rodrigo's festival occurred following the successful release of her album "You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love," which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200. The festival successfully raised $10 million for nonprofits dedicated to supporting women and girls.
