Oldham Brothers Top Charts Above Pop Stars

Two brothers from Oldham, performing as Two Connors, have achieved a remarkable feat by reaching the top of the official UK Singles Downloads chart. Their new song, "Familiar Faces," which pays homage to the "legends, places and characters of Oldham," unexpectedly dethroned global music stars.

Danny and Callum Connor, who have been active in Manchester's local music scene for three years, expressed their astonishment at the success. They recalled starting their musical journey with a simple Facebook page and have since garnered a substantial following online.

Callum Connor shared that the song evoked a strong feeling during its creation, leading them to prioritize it over other planned tracks. The positive reaction to a live performance video online further propelled their momentum. The brothers highlighted the significant support from their family, including a heartwarming moment surprising their grandmother with the news of their song playing on the radio.

Looking ahead, Two Connors are ambitious, aiming for future number-one hits while emphasizing the importance of staying grounded. They advise aspiring musicians to ignore negativity and persevere in chasing their dreams, drawing parallels to rising resiliently. Their journey from small venues to chart-topping success serves as an inspiration.
