Olaf Takes Over Disney Drawing Class, Fans Outraged

Walt Disney World's Hollywood Studios is introducing a new attraction, Olaf Draws, where the beloved snowman will lead animation classes. This experience replaces the former live drawing sessions at The Animation Experience at Conservation Station in Disney's Animal Kingdom, which closed to make way for a 'Bluey Experience' set to open in summer 2026. Unlike the previous format, which featured human instructors, Olaf Draws will utilize an audio-animatronic Olaf teaching guests, supported by pre-recorded clips from Disney animators and directors.

The shift has generated significant fan criticism online. Many guests have voiced their disappointment on social media platforms like Instagram and Reddit, lamenting the loss of live interaction with human artists. Concerns were raised that an animatronic and pre-recorded videos lack the personal touch of a live instructor, with some fans feeling this change makes the experience less valuable and akin to watching a video at home. Some suggested a hybrid approach with a human cast member present.

However, not all reactions have been negative. Travel advisors report excitement from clients, highlighting the advanced technology that brings Olaf's personality to life. Olaf Draws is scheduled to open in late summer 2026, joining other upcoming additions at Hollywood Studios, including a 'Monstropolis' land and a reimagined Rock 'n' Roller Coaster attraction.
