Pankaj Tripathi Film Delayed for 'Spider-Man' Screen Clash
27 Jul
Summary
- Ohh My Dog release date shifted to August 7
- Film faces screen shortage due to Spider-Man anticipation
- CBFC mandated modifications including muting brands

Pankaj Tripathi's upcoming film, Ohh My Dog, has experienced a one-week release delay, moving from its original July 31 date to August 7. Director Amit Rai's latest project will now avoid a direct clash with Marvel Studios' Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
The decision stems from a reported shortage of cinema screens. Exhibitors are expected to prioritize the Marvel blockbuster, which features Tom Holland and Zendaya, potentially limiting showcasing opportunities for Ohh My Dog. The postponement is a strategic move to secure better screen availability and a more impactful theatrical release.
The film, which has already received a U/A certificate from the CBFC, required several modifications. These included muting brand references like 'Truecaller' and 'Dettol', shortening a dog sequence, blurring a Lord Hanuman photo, and adding disclaimers on child labor and human trafficking.
Ohh My Dog showcases extensive canine talent, featuring over 250 dogs, including performers Oscar and Bruno. The narrative focuses on the bond between a child and his pet, integrating humor, emotion, and social commentary. This delay allows the family entertainer a clearer path to reach audiences.
