Unheard recordings from Oasis's 1990s heyday are set to be auctioned on October 3rd. The collection, dubbed The Desk Tapes, comprises over 100 hours of rehearsal footage and soundchecks, along with recordings from 63 live shows. This significant archive offers a rare glimpse into the band's formative years.
Original setlists, tour itineraries, a band-played Epiphone guitar, and an Oasis tour parka are also among the items available. The collection has been privately held for two decades by Owain Richards. His father, a former front-of-house sound engineer for the band during their rise, meticulously labeled and archived all the material.
Richards shared that he grew up listening to these tapes, stating that Oasis felt as much a part of his family as they were a part of the broader culture. The auction will take place in Evesham, Worcestershire, presenting a unique opportunity for fans to acquire a piece of music history.
