The event is scheduled for November 12, during the festival's run from November 6 to November 15.
This partnership highlights the NYCF's long-standing mission to discover and platform new voices in comedy. Variety's "10 Comics to Watch" franchise has a history of identifying future stars since 2000, with past honorees including well-known comedians. The honorees will be recognized in Variety's November 4 issue prior to the live showcase.
Founded in 2004 by Caroline Hirsch, the NYCF is the largest and longest-running comedy festival in the United States. It features a diverse range of programming beyond stand-up, including sketch performances, panel discussions, and live podcast tapings. Hirsch, also the founder of Carolines on Broadway, expressed excitement about the partnership to extend the festival's mission of discovering new talent.
