Northern Lights Studios, a new film and TV company based in Los Angeles, has announced its launch at the European Film Market. The studio's primary mission is to identify, develop, and globalize the next wave of Nordic cinema. Co-founded by experienced producers Christian D. Bruun and Asger Hussain, the company is set to bring Nordic stories and talent to a worldwide audience.
The studio is starting with an impressive slate of over 20 film and TV projects. These projects draw heavily from Nordic source material and encompass a range of genres, including drama and commercially-focused features, as well as genre films. Notably, an original feature film based on a real-life Formula 1 story is among the upcoming productions.
Bruun and Hussain are collaborating directly with authors, publishers, and rights holders across Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Iceland, and Greenland. Early investor Bo H. Holmgreen, President & CEO of Viking Sunset Studios Bali, will provide essential physical production resources, including studio space for shoots. This strategic partnership aims to facilitate the delivery of high-quality, IP-driven projects on an international scale.
